D: That's a good idea. Your parents don't need to know.
T: I don't want to lie to them though.
A: Come on, Tom. Just one hour at the Internat café won't really affect your grades. Why do you have to tell them?
D: And we can go study at my house after we play. So you won't really be lying. You'll just be…twisting the truth a little.
T: Hmm. I don't know… that sounds like lying to me.
A: Tom, don't be sucj a goody-goody. It's just a little white lie. No big deal.
T: I guess you're right. My parents don't need to know OK, let's go!
D: Yeah, come with us, Tom. You don't have to tell your parents everything you do.
A: Yeah.What they don't know won't hurt them.
T: No, I shouldn't. I'm not going to lie.
A: I know you're dying to play this game. Just come with us. Study afterward.
T: You're right; I do really want to play this game. But I don't want to lose my parents' trust.
D: Relax, Tom. Don't take everything so seriously.
A: Tell your conscuence to take a break. Let's go!
T: Sorry, guys, you'll just have to go without me. I'm going home to study. I'll play the game when my grades get bettter.
T: It's tempting. But my parents might find out, and then I'll be in trouble.
A: Oh, they'll never know.
T: Maybe, but I don't want to risk it.
D: Well, what if we don't go to the Internet café? We could go to Alan's house and play games on his computer.
T: No.
D: Why not? Your parents didn't say you couldn't go to Alan's house. They just said you couldn't go to the Internet cafés.
T: But you know what they meant- they want me to study, not play games.
D: Maybe. But if we play at Alan's house, then techcically, you're not disobeying them.
T: Well, that's true. OK. Let's go.
